Child Passenger Safety Technician Training

The South Central AHEC employs two nationally certified Child Passenger Safety (cps) Technicians/Instructors.  Training by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) curriculum provided to these instructors allows the area a greater opportunity to participate in the child passenger safety course to become future technicians.  The WKU College of Health and Human services will provide independent study credit for participating in the training usually conducted each year in May.   In addition, the cps instructors are prepared to assist other agencies in providing check up clinics where parents/caregivers are taught how to properly install child safety seats. Group presentations on child passenger safety are also available.  For more information contact Donita Lashley or Pamela Jarboe at (270) 745-3325.
