The ECC provides developmentally appropriate activities in inclusive group settings for children of all abilities. Group sessions will be composed of a ratio of approximately 50% non-delayed children to 50% delayed children. Groups are currently provided for children between the ages of 15 months and 6 years old. Any concerned individual or agency may make a referral for group services. Primary Level Evaluations for children birth to three years old who are suspected of having a developmental delay will be provided through a contract with First Steps in the near future. Please contact Lisa Murphy, ECC Director at 1-270-745-4125 to make a referral or to discuss ECC services.
ECC developmental play group session times vary according to the age of the children and the schedule of activities. However a sample toddler and preschool group schedule is included below for your review.
SAMPLE Toddler Schedule (2 or 2 ½ hours)
CENTERS (guided free play)—60 minutes
STORY TIME (book & songs related to theme)—15 minutes
SNACK—15 minutes
SMALL GROUP (art and/or sensory activities related to theme)—30 minutes
MUSIC & MOVEMENT CLASS—30 minutes
SAMPLE Preschool Schedule (2 or 2 ½ hours)
MORNING CIRCLE (choose centers)—10 minutes
CENTERS -- 50 minutes
CIRCLE (book and song related to theme)
SNACK—15 minutes
SMALL GROUPS (Art, Sensory, theme-related activity)—30 minutes
MUSIC & MOVEMENT CLASS—30 minutes
