International Student Teaching
Spain, Fall 2011
Hola! I am absolutely loving Spain! I've been working with my mentor teacher Paul, and am going to be teaching 1st o ESO and 2nd a little next week. He teaches English all day, so I am able to understand all the classes I have observed. The school is so welcoming! the lunch food is a little odd, but the dinner is very good! The teachers and students all move very quick! You have to be on your toes! The students are so eager to learn about America and like speaking english. Let me know what else you need from me!
Hola Dr. Carter,
I am still having a blast here at SEK! The past week has been very eventful! I can't believe it's already half way over! This week I have had the opportunity to be in some primary classes as well as ESO. It is so interesting to see all the cultural differences. I have mainly been in English classes, which I enjoy because I can follow along! I have taught a few English lessons In 1st of ESO and in primary. I have enjoyed getting to try some of the Whole Brain Teaching strategies i used while student teaching in Kentucky!
Jordan and I went into Barcelona last night to watch a FC Barcelona futbol game! it was very exciting! and we didn't get lost!! We were very proud of ourselves for finding our way around the city! We also spent Saturday with some of the older girl students in Barcelona. They were excited to get to show us around and we enjoyed learning more about the culture and the schools. Here is a picture of the girls and us at lunch...
Everyone is very welcoming and curious about the US! They were also able to practice their English all day! Which is helpful for their end of year exams! Jordan and I will be traveling to Paris this weekend to meet up with my sister, who will be in Germany until next fall. I am excited to get to see a new city and my little sister who I haven't seen since august!
