WKU’s Future Educators Association Collects Books for Parker-Bennett-Curry Elementary School
The WKU Future Educators Association (FEA) student organization collected 319 children’s books as a service project and donated them to Parker-Bennett-Curry Elementary School. WKU education students and FEA officers Gretchen Gothard, Alicia DiTommaso, and Jessica Mayfield presented the books to Ms. Hannah Ogden. Ms. Hannah Ogden (’05 and ’07), Library Media Specialist at Parker-Bennett-Curry, was very excited and appreciated the donation. Ms. Ogden stated that “many of the books I am cataloging into our library's collection so that students and teachers can check them out, and some of the books are going to be placed in our book giveaway cart.” She added that she will “try to get as many books into the kids' hands as possible, especially at the end of the year when they are going to be away from us all summer. The kids are so excited to get to pick out a book that they can keep and take home forever.”
