The course is completely online. We hope to enhance the learning experience of each participant by using discussion, personal sharing, case studies, lecture, audiovisuals, or group work.

Carol Bradford, MSN, RN, FCN

Ms. Bradford graduated from Bluegrass Community and Technical College with an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing in 1977; a Bachelor of General Studies from the University of Kentucky in 1977; and an MSN in Nursing Education from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine in 2010. Ms. Bradford has been a nurse educator for the International Parish Nurse Resource Center (IPNRC) in Memphis, TN since 2005.

Ms. Bradford became involved in parish nursing in 2001, as a charter member of the parish nurse committee at Beargrass Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Louisville, KY. After moving to her hometown in Western Kentucky, she served as parish nurse of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Mayfield, KY from 2005–2011. Ms. Bradford has been the Parish Nurse Coordinator of the Parish Nurse Ministry of Lourdes & Western Baptist Hospitals in Paducah, KY since 2005. She has taught the Foundations of Faith Community Nursing 2009 Curriculum, IPNRC publishers, at Western Kentucky University for undergraduate/graduate credit as well as for continuing education credit since 2010.

She is a member of the Health Ministries Association; Sigma Theta Tau, at–large Chapter; and the Kentucky League for Nursing.

Ms. Bradford is active on the boards of the Kentucky Health Ministries Coordinator’s Network, the Friedell Committee for Health System Transformation, and the Graves County ASAP (Agency for Substance Abuse Policy). She is a contributing author in Diana Crowell’s Complexity leadership: Nursing’s role in health care delivery, F.A. Davis Company publishers. She was co–author with Sharon T. Hinton for Working in Rural Communities, Equipping the saints: Continuing education for faith community nurses and congregations, IPNRC publishers. She served on the IPNRC Advisory Committee for Faith Community Nursing Coordinator Curriculum 2012, IPNRC publishers. She has conducted numerous workshops on Faith Community Nursing and appears in the IPNRC DVD Called to care through faith community nursing.
