Are you looking for ways to involve
the parents/families in your child care program?
Following are a few ways that you may find helpful.
• Volunteering in the classroom and
interacting with the children while they play
• Read to children
• Bring in cereal boxes, etc for the dramatic
play area. Children will use the alphabet and
many language skills when playing with these.
The boxes also make great drums!
• Playing games with children
• Assisting in designing or maintaining a parent
bulletin board
• Collecting materials for projects in the program
• Does a parent have a special hobby or a
special talent? Ask him/her to share with the class.
