August Celebration Highlights the Importance of Breastfeeding - “Breastfeeding: A Vital Emergency Response: Are You Ready?”
World Breastfeeding Week has been celebrated each year, during the first week of August, for 18 years, to draw attention to the importance of breastfeeding our children. Breastfeeding provides benefits for both mothers and infants. Breast milk provides protection for infants from viral and bacterial infections. Additionally, research is now indicating that mother’s who breastfeed have reduced rates of some ovarian and breast cancers. Learn more on

Join NACCRRA and Mothers Ought to Have Equal Rights (MOTHERS) in the fight to end to Mommy Wars, a tactic used by the media to raise ratings by pitting working mothers against those that stay-at-home.

In Group Book Club for Teens at Warren County Public Library
Bowling Green, Ky.

Students age 13 - 18 are invited to be a part of the In Group Book Club at the Warren County Public Library. Publisher Henry Holt will be providing books and advance reader copies for this project. Students will choose the titles they are interested in then fill out a questionnaire for the publisher and discuss the book with the group.
“This is great opportunity for students,” says reference librarian Kara Ripley. “They will receive newly released books or books that are about to be published.”
