We look forward to seeing you on campus!
Listed below is information that may make your campus visit a little easier!
The Center for Career and Professional Development is located in the Downing Student Union, Room A230. We offer each employer a private office for conducting interviews. The office is equipped with wireless Internet access, office supplies and various amenities. The student waiting area is located down the hall, where students wait comfortably until they are called by you.
For your convenience, there is a recruiter lounge located near the interview offices. This space is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave oven, sink, table and other items you might find in your own kitchen. Please feel free to use this space while you are visiting with us.
When you arrive on the day of your on-campus interviews, we will provide you with your interview packet for the day. Normally, interviews are conducted between the hours of 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Central Time. Interviews are in 30 minutes intervals, but interview times can be adjusted. The interview schedule that we provide lists the name and corresponding time of each person to be interviewed. A copy of each person's resume will be included in your packet. If we do not have a student's resume on file, we anticipate that the student will give you a copy at the time of the interview.
The Center for Career and Professional Development is located in the Downing Student Union. In that facility there are several options for lunch including:
- Fresh Food Company is an all you can eat dining experience with a wide variety of food choices ranging from fresh made sandwiches, a hot meal and a salad bar
- Red Zone, WKU's sports themed restaurant, offers foods ranging from burgers to salads to dessert at reasonable prices
- DSU Food Court houses Bene Pasta, Chick-fil-A, Izzi's and Greens to Go
- Subway has fresh made sandwiches and wraps
Please Note: Due to the building renovations, on-site food options will be limited until Fall 2014.
If you would like to drive off-campus for lunch there are many restaurants within a 10 minute drive from campus. Here is a list of restaurants with driving directions.
Evaluation of the On-Campus Recruiting Program
When you pick up your interview packet on the day of your visit, you will find an evaluation form with the other materials. We ask that you complete this at the end of your day and return it to our office before leaving campus. This provides us with valuable feedback and suggestions on how we can improve the services we offer to recruiters.
Recruiting Day Parking
You should receive your driving directions and a campus map by e-mail prior to your visit. If you do not have these items, a campus map is provided below. You can get a parking permit from The Center for Career and Professional Development staff when you arrive in the office. Please allow extra time to place the parking permit in your car prior to beginning your interviews. This permit must be displayed on the rearview mirror or the driver's side dash board of the vehicle so that the permit number is completely visible. A parking space will be reserved for you in Parking Structure No. 1. The reserved spots are directly on your right as you enter the parking ramp from the Avenue of Champions. If the reserved parking spaces are filled, you may park anywhere in the parking structure except in spaces designated for the disabled.
