Job Description:
The Executive Chair of CAB is ultimately responsible for all actions of the organization. He/she chairs the bi-monthly executive board meeting and makes sure that the meetings are concise and thorough. He/she serves as supervisor for the CAB committees and works closely with the CAB to familiarize him/herself with university practices, procedures and policies. The Executive Chair also maintains training procedures along with the Advisor and assists the committee chairs in coordinating upcoming events.
It is the Executive Chair that is responsible for establishing the semester meeting schedule for the Administrative/Executive Board and securing through the Downing University Center Day Manager the site of these bi-monthly meetings. On off weeks the Executive Chair should arrange for an executive meeting for all chairs to go over any information that might be pertinent CAB programming. A monthly budget report should be presented at the last executive board meeting reflecting the budget situations for each CAB committee.
At any point that a committee chair is unavailable to fulfill his/her responsibilities, the Executive Chair will take over that committee’s responsibilities until a replacement is in place. The Executive Chair is the most visible member of CAB and as a result should be an example to all of the volunteer membership of the organization by attending meetings and programs of all of the committees. The Executive Chair is responsible for updating the plaques of the various committees at the end of each semester and is further responsible for making all arrangements for any Christmas and end of year celebrations. An annual report should be turned in to the CAB Advisor at the end of each semester summarizing that semester’s quantity, quality and variety of programming.
