Research

Dr. Little specializes in financial and managerial accounting. His current research focuses on the effects of formal budgetary procedures on organizational attitudes and behaviors, budgetary participation, and procedural and interactional fairness. He teaches courses in financial and managerial accounting.

Bio

Dr. Little has extensive experience in all phases of public and private accounting, internal auditing. He worked in public accounting with Arthur Andersen & Co. (Chicago Office), where he performed audits in various industries such as airlines, pharmaceutical, banking, and manufacturing. Dr. Little has led internal audits of the Aluminum Company of America's locations in Japan and Suriname (SA), and served as Controller for one of ALCOA's fabrication plants. His most recent position was Controller of Stoody Company, a subsidiary of the Thermadyne Holdings Group. He has held adjunct faculty positions at Elmhurst College, California State Polytechnic University, and University of LaVerne.
With Dr. Nace Magner, Dr. Little has published "The Fairness of Formal Budgetary Procedures and Their Enactment: Relationships with Managers' Behavior" in Group & Organization Management. He has also published the Managerial Auditing Journal, Advnces in Management Accounting, The Kentucky CPA Journal, and the Journal of Entrepreneurship Education. He is also a member of several professional associations including the American Society of Certified Public Accountants, Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Accounting Association, and the Institute of Management Accountants. Dr. Little has won teaching and service awards at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Little is also the recipient of the Gordon Ford College Public Service Award and the University President's Award for Diversity.
