Tuition Incentive Program (TIP)
WKU offers a Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) to qualified undergraduate students who
are residents of specific counties in Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Ohio,
Georgia and Florida.
Qualified students will automatically be assessed tuition at approximately 1.3263 times the corresponding resident rate for undergraduate students attending the main campus. Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) values can vary in amount for undergraduate students, depending on the number of credit hours enrolled.
Please contact the Office of Admissions for eligibility requirements.
Tuition Incentive Program Scholarship (TIPS)
Students with superior achievement will receive a “Tuition Incentive Program Scholarship”
(TIPS) to pay the difference between resident undergraduate tuition (students attending
the main campus) and the Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) rate.
Please Note: The Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) and the Tuition Incentive Program Scholarship (TIPS) are different. TIP is a tuition rate based on county of residence; TIPS is a scholarship based on academic qualifications.
National/International Academic Scholarship (NIAS)
Non-resident and International students not otherwise eligible for the Tuition Incentive
Program (TIP) may be eligible for the National/International Academic Scholarship
(NIAS) award based on their academic achievement.
Any qualifying, non-resident, beginning freshman is eligible for the National/International Academic Scholarship (NIAS) that will pay the difference between the non-resident tuition rate and Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) rate.
Please contact the Department of Student Financial Assistance for eligibility requirements.
Out-of-State Tuition Waiver
Residents of Macon, Robertson and Sumner Counties in Tennessee are eligible to pay
in-state tuition and fees as a result of a scholarship that is automatically awarded.
To see if you live in a qualifying Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) county or for additional information please refer to the Tuition Incentive Program brochure.
For further questions regarding the Tuition Incentive Program, please contact the Office of Admissions at (270) 745-2551.
