This grassroots organization is in the initial stages of fund-raising and business planning.  Its proposed opening date is the 1st quarter of 2009.  As a full service grocery store, Green Market is a locally owned food cooperative that seeks to serve Barren and surrounding counties in the important food choices we make for ourselves and our families. It will offer natural, organic and local fair trade foods.  Natural, locally-owned food co-ops are also known as an excellent resource for food-related information - how food production affects people, farmers, the community and the environment.
