Invitation to the Community:

We invite you to participate in a regional conference on February 19th- 20th, 2010 entitled Interfaith Dialogue on Earth Care. This important time together will consist of group discussions on religion and environment, led by leaders from many different faiths.

Nationally acclaimed speaker, Dr. Matthew Sleeth, Executive Director of Blessed Earth, recognized by a wide spectrum of Christian denominations, will speak on Christianity and Earth Care. This keynote address on Friday, February 19th at 7pm in Mass Media & Technology Hall on WKU’s campus is free and open to all area residents and students. The Saturday, February 20th conference will take place from 8am-3pm at Christ Episcopal Church in Bowling Green at a charge of $20. Here, we will discuss worldviews including Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, and Judaism, in the search for common ground.

Participants will have the opportunity to:
• Examine the relationship of humans to the Earth in religious traditions from around
the world
• Discover the common ground among religious traditions
• Initiate plans for future cooperation among faith communities, related to Earth care and sustainability

Organized in partnership with many local churches and religious organizations, the WKU Departments of Biology and Philosophy & Religion welcome you and your church body to come and share in this important and unique opportunity to participate in an Interfaith Dialogue on Earth Care.

Please print, complete, and return a registration form by February 8th, 2010.
Space is limited. Limited scholarships are available for participants from the sponsoring congregations. For more information, contact Margie.bowker@wku.edu. We look forward to hearing from you.
