Green Properties & Sustainability Awards Program

In 2010, BGGreen will launch a Green Properties & Sustainability Awards program.  These awards are designed to recognize businesses, groups, and individuals that have demonstrated an unusual commitment to bringing sustainable practices and green technologies to Bowling Green and its region.  

Green Properties Awards:  There are two separate categories:  Green Buildings and Green Landscaping, and within each category both Individual/Residential and Company/Business may apply.  These awards are designed to support innovative green practices and design in buildings and landscaping that are models to our community.  In each category, there will be an award-winner and an honorable mention.  

Sustainability Award:  A single award will be given each year, along with an honorable mention, to a business, school, agency, or individual that has demonstrated a commitment to sustainability principles and practices and helped to advance the 3 E’s of sustainability in our community – Environmental Health, Social Equity, and Economic Vitality – both in how they live their lives and their work.

Award winners will be selected by an independent panel of professionals.  Award winners will receive a wall plaque and $50 cash award.  Honorable mention winners will receive a framed certificate.  The awards will be presented at an Awards Ceremony. All proceeds will go toward supporting BGGreen activities.

Nominations are accepted at large and individuals plus groups are encouraged to self-nominate.  There is a $15 application fee for nominations.  All proceeds go towards supporting this award program.
