It is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a permanent stage for performance poetry and sharing local performers and their writings with the world. It offers poetry competitions and slams; teaches writing, communication and performance in community workshops; and rewards performers with scholarships, prizes, and publishing. It believes that giving children the opportunity to participate in music and art will enhance their appreciation of the fine arts and enrich their lives and also guarantee future generations similar opportunities. Proceeds from its annual Jambodians Holiday Bash and other events are used to fund various arts-related programs in the area. |
