MISSION STATEMENT

The International Health and Human Service Learning Program extends the mission of Western Kentucky University and the College of Health and Human Services by providing health and human services which promote wellness of body, mind, and environment to the underserved community of Gales Point, Belize.  Participants of the program engage in hands-on and reflective projects teaching them to be socially responsible citizen leaders of a global society.

GOALS

1.    To provide service learning experiences to students in the College of Health and Human Services

2.    To provide a community-based participatory research environment

3.    To collaborate with the Belizean healthcare system at a national, regional, and local level to improve the long-term health and human services of Belize.
