The Western Kentucky University Wind Ensemble is the premier concert ensemble on the WKU campus. The Wind Ensemble has performed at the Kentucky Music Educators Convention in 1996, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2012 and the College Band Directors National Association Southern Division Convention in 1996, 2000, and 2004. The Wind Ensemble recently traveled to Russia in 2005 to participate in the 60th annual "Victory Day" celebration. The Wind Ensemble rehearses on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. during the spring semester and performs two on campus concerts as well as select tour and conference performances. Membership in the Wind Ensemble is determined by competitive audition. For more information about the Wind Ensemble contact Dr. Gary Schallert.
