Tradition............it's a word often used by those attempting to describe just what
sets Western Kentucky University apart from others. And while tradition is a very important part of Western's athletic heritage, without some special kinds of student athletes and coaches that tradition would have never been established.
Throughout its history, Western has always seemed to have that special performer who not only makes a mark on the field of competition but leaves a mark for others to follow. Westerners have long been recognized as winners.......winners not only in athletic events but winners in life.
Those who have passed through Western's doors have that special spirit, the spirit which all Westerners feel when the Red Towels are waving. Western's spirit and tradition remain alive today. Through accomplishments in and out of the classroom Westerners continue to build on the tradition and spirit found on the Hill.......tradition and spirit fostered and nurtured by the Hall of Fame inductees.
