Bio

Hello! I'm Lindsey 'Goins' Turley (aka LG - my sign name and my identity in the Deaf community and interpreting world). I am originally from Corbin, KY. I moved from Corbin to Lexington in 2004 to attend the University of Kentucky with the goal of becoming a Social Worker. In the Spring semester of my sophomore year at UK I felt like Social Work was no longer the direction I wanted and because of different experiences seeing interpreters throughout the years I decided to pursue that career.

This meant transferring from UK to Eastern Kentucky University. I graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor's of Science in Interpreting and moved to Bowling Green. I worked 3 years as a staff interpreter/coordinator for Vocational Rehabilitation.

In 2011, I decided to leave my position with VR and accepted a position with Warren County Public Schools. I currently work as the staff interpreter at Warren East Middle School. I married my dreamy husband Matt in May 2012 and we live here in Bowling Green. I interpret from time to time in the community, at WKU, and now have begun the adventure of teaching at the college level. I'm very much looking forward to teaching at Western! Go TOPS!
