Bio

Peggy Wallace was introduced to American Sign Language at Western Kentucky University and also learned from members of the local Deaf community. Certified by the National Association of the Deaf at Level Three, she volunteers with Deaf people on a regular basis. She is employed full-time typing speech-to-text for hard of hearing students, which she thoroughly enjoys. She also enjoys attending interpreting workshops, national conferences of the Deaf, and volunteering at the Caribbean Christian Centre for the Deaf in Montego Bay, Jamaica. “The best thing about Sign Language is the opportunity to meet other people,” she says. Mrs. Wallace has taught American Sign Language at WKU since 2006.
