The Applied Statistics Center at Western Kentucky University was established to facilitate student-led, faculty-mentored statistical consulting. Under the guidance of affiliate faculty members, students in the Applied Statistics Center collaborate with academic researchers to find statistical solutions to problems.
The Applied Statistics Center will provide hands-on experience for students studying applied statistics by allowing them to work on real projects and to participate in the different stages of research and statistical consulting. In addition, the Center will offer applied statistics workshops and seminars for both faculty and student researchers.
The Center will also create opportunities for multi-disciplinary research collaborations. The Applied Statistics Center is a part of WKU's Applied Research and Technology Program (ARTP).
The goals of the Applied Statistics Center are:
- To expand student research and training opportunities.
- To provide support for faculty research.
- To develop interdisciplinary activities which utilize statistical data analysis.
