10.25.07

The bake sale is Wednesday, 10/31 from 10 am until 2pm. A couple of people have volunteered to work the bake sale but fewer have offered to bake goodies to sell. If you plan to participate, either through baking or working, I need you to email me and let me know. If you plan to work, please let me know what times you are available so we don't have schedule conflicts and leave the booth unattended. Also, I will need a couple of people to help set up around 9:30 that morning.

10.9.07

Club Meetings: We have two meetings scheduled this month. The first is on Wed. 10/10, and the second is on Thurs. 10/11. Both are at 4:30 at the Rock House.

Lost River: We are scheduled to go to Lost River Cave this Saturday 10/13. We will be deciding at the meetings this week what will be most convenient for everyone in terms of meeting at the Rock House or meeting at Lost River. I'll keep you posted as soon as we decide.

Artifact Washing: There is an artifact washing scheduled for Friday 10/19 at 6pm. I hope to see many of you there.

Conference Abstracts: For those of you who are planning to present at the Anth Club Conference, I will need your abstracts by Friday 10/26. This gives me plenty of time to get them into the brochure and get it ready for printing.

Bake Sale: The Halloween bake sale is on Wed. 10/31 from 10am until 2pm in FAC. This year we will set up in front of the gallery in hopes of getting more traffic for our fund raiser. Remember, we need people who will be able to work the sale as well as lots of baked goodies to sell. Things like cookies, cupcakes, and brownies tend to be big hits. Remember it's Halloween so be creative in your baking and feel free to dress up if you like.

Also, if you would like to be considered for the book scholarship you need to get your essay to me by Thursday 11/8. If you have any questions about the book scholarship, feel free to email me and I'll be happy to answer whatever questions you may have. Remember that the conference is scheduled for Sat. 11/10, email me if you have questions.

We heard back from the SGA and the Anth Club has been awarded $275 this year. I believe that this is one of the higher amounts that we have received as an organization. I feel that this speaks to our abilities as an organization since we seem to be getting more money from the SGA each year.
