Relay For Life of Warren-Western Kentucky University
Western Kentucky University's 2013 Relay for Life event is Friday, November 8th! It is right around the corner, and, as a WKU organization, we encourage you to register a team for the event!
So, what is Relay? Relay for life is an overnight community fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. At the event, teams camp out around a track and members of each team take turns walking around the track. But, this is no ordinary fundraising walk. Relay for Life includes games, activities, music, and food throughout the night. To top it all off, there is also a theme for the event every year. This year, WKU's Relay theme is "WIld, Wild West". Teams have fun with the theme by dressing up or decorating their area.
But, most importantly, the Relay event is a time for participants and cancer survivors
to celebrate what they've overcome, remember those lost to cancer, and fight back
against a disease that has affected so many.
To register a team, go online to www.relayforlife.org/wkuky. Click on sign up, and then click "Start a new team". To join a team, go to that website and choose "Join an existing team". For questions, you can contact Angie Geron, the American Cancer Society local representative, at 270-745-1963 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Join us this year, as we stay up all night for those affected by cancer, at WKU's 2013 Relay for Life.
