2013 Camps and Clinics Descriptions:
- Half Day Camp is for boys and girls, ages 3-11, and will focus on the basic techniques of soccer, such as dribbling, passing and receiving, and shooting. Players will learn these skills through individual instruction and small-sided games, all in a fun-filled environment! All players will be grouped by both age and skill level.
- Middle School Friday Nights are for boys and girls entering into 6th-8th grade in the fall of 2013. We will play an 11v11 game every Friday night in June. There will be a qualified SKY coach at every game to provide instruction. These games are open to all, even if they do not currently play for SKY
- Summer Showdown are full –sided games for boys and girls, ages U8-U13. Games will either be on Tuesday or Thursday night, and there will be a qualified SKY coach at every game to provide instruction. These games are open to select and recreational players, and players will be grouped by age and skill level. Games will begin the week of June 8th and will go for 5 weeks, skipping the week of July 1st. Each player is guaranteed at least 5 games.
- Girls' and Boys' Strikers and Keepers Clinic is for girls and boys, ages 8-13, and is for all position players, but the primary focus will be on attacking in the final third (for Strikers) and defending in the final third (for Keepers). Topics of attacking will include: crossing, finishing out of the air and on the ground, shooting from distance, and composure in the 18 yard box. Topics of goalkeeping will include: handling crosses, shot-stopping, diving technique, angles, and organization of defense
- Competitive Pre Season Training Camp is for fall boys and girls select team players only. The purpose of this pre season camp is to prepare all select players for the upcoming season and establish good training habits that might have been lost over summer break.
