Cost: No Cost; shelter free for ten days
Service Description: Primary role is to provide shelter and food to those in need, as well as make referrals to other community services; transportation vouchers, heating assistance when funds are available.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Salvation Army needs general maintenance, landscaping, computer help. Their big programs are bell ringing at the holidays and monitoring of their Angel Tree at the Mall. Also need help with applications for participants in the Angel Tree Program. Time period starts after Thanksgiving in November through December. Need Bosnian and Spanish translators. Also, needed is help with the thrift store or kitchen. Volunteers need to be 16 years old or older. For more information, contact Cardine Harrison or Cathy Walker at (270) 843-3485.
