We have separate support meetings for Family & Friends and one for Consumers. All support group meetings are held on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Hillvue Heights Baptist Church, 3219 Nashville Rd. Bowling Green, rooms 208 & 209. Monthly Business meetings are at 5:30 on the 3rd Monday at the same location.
Cost: Family Membership fee is $35 per year; Open Door membership is $3.00 for each year
Service Description: NAMI Bowling Green A Grassroots Voice on Mental Illness-Representing South Central Kentucky. We are a nonprofit organization of families, friends, caregivers and consumers who support each other as a way to live with and learn about mental illnesses. We have no paid staff. Consumers are the individuals who have the mental illness. We utilize volunteers for all of our community events. Education is a number 1 goal of NAMI. We use NAMI Signature Programs like Family-To-Family. This is an Education Program, free, a 12 week course for family caregivers of individuals with severe brain disorders (mental illness). The course is taught by trained family members. All instruction and course materials are free for class participants. We are accepting family members who sign up now, contact Marty Harrison 270-842-5687. NAMI Bowling Green's goals of Support, Education, Research and Advocacy are on going.
