Service Description: An ecumenical Christian organization that partners with low-income families to build new homes. This is a hand-up program, not a hand-out program which allows the homeowner to be involved in the actual construction of the home, and in return, the family receives an interest-free mortgage for the home.
Habitat for Humanity Building homes; clean warehouse in preparation for assembling during the winter; computer data entry; answer phones; general clerical. Volunteers may also work with one of their committees, e.g., public relations, family selection, family support, fundraising, church relations, construction, youth and the WKU campus chapter. Habitat for Humanity of Bowling Green/Warren County, Inc. is putting together a group of regular volunteers who will become the "deconstruction" team for the ReStore. Their assignment will be to dismantle the parts of buildings that are going to be torn down so HFH can salvage the materials that will then sell through the ReStore.
