Service Description: Approximately 250,000 people in Kentucky have diabetes. Each year diabetes kills more people than AIDS and breast cancer combined. Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness, kidney failure and amputations. Diabetes carries an increased risk for heart attack and stroke. The mission of the American Diabetes Association is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of people affected by diabetes.
