American College of Health Care Administrators
Beginning Fall 2013, this is a NEW student organization for individuals that have an interest in leadership or management roles working with older adults, with the goal of advancing the noble field of health and aging service administration professions. Areas of interest may include nursing home administration, assisted living director or managers in community based services.
ACHCA is a professional student organization that will provide students an opportunity to:
*Network with professionals in aging leadership roles
*Become connected to ACHCA leaders in long term care
*Facilitate finding internships and careers in aging
Membership is $45.00 per year, which includes a student membership in ACHCA

*Student members of ACHCA have full access to ACHCA resources, conference/events discounts, members only news and the new online community ACHCAConnect. Student memberships are non-voting and cannot hold a National or State Chapter officer positions.

There is a reduced fee for students to attend national conferences. National does not offer financial assistance for travel or lodging; however, there is a McConnell Scholarship that 2 students receive to help with costs to Convocation. Also, student who present poster sessions may also receive financial assistance for Convocation.
The Annual Convocation gives undergraduate and graduate students from universities across the country an opportunity to present their scholarly work on a wide variety of topics from applied research with a faculty member or an innovative project with an ACHCA member. Students participate through oral presentations, poster displays, and gallery exhibits. Throughout the two days, participants have the opportunity to interact with other students, faculty, and ACHCA members from across the country. The poster session will showcase the applied research, scholarly work and creative professional activity of undergraduates and graduates in the broad fields of health and aging services administration study. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend the ACHCA Spring Convocation.
Undergraduate and graduate students who are ACHCA student members. Faculty mentors are encouraged to attend with students.
