Orientation for new students

Beginning freshmen and transfer students are expected to register for classes on special Orientation-Advisement-Registration (O-A-R) dates.  Following admission, an invitation to attend O-A-R is sent to the student who should return the reservation form to reserve an O-A-R date.  New students who are planning to register for classes at an extended campus site should contact the extended campus center.

Students are assigned an academic advisor in conjunction with their O-A-R participation.  The assignment of an academic advisor is based on the student’s major. Extended campus students who do not participate in O-A-R may be assigned an academic advisor at the extended campus site.

The O-A-R Program includes orientation to the University, placement testing, academic advisement and class registration.
