Thanks for your inquiry about the Ad Program at Western. You are wise to get as much information as possible before making a decision on which school to attend. You certainly have a head start!

We believe that traditional advertising, like newspapers, TV, magazines and radio will continue to thrive, but the growth of new media, such as the internet, CD's, DVD's and two-way TV is growing at such a pace, we needed to change the Ad Program. We now offer Account Services and Creative as major tracks of study along with three new emphases on the Creative track. You can specialize in Print Ad Design, Broadcast Advertising and Interactive Advertising. If you're interested in Print Ad Design, we have partnered with the Art Department to offer advertising students a special 30-hr Graphic Design minor. This makes an unbeatable combination of art and commerce.

This is an exciting opportunity for our majors to take advantage of the combination of technology and advertising. We have not only revamped the program, we are now in a new state-of-the-art complex.

Please visit the Ad Program website at: http://www.wku.edu/Journalism/Ad for complete information. You'll also see a link to the student chapter of the American Advertising Federation - AdFed. Should you need any additional help, please e-mail me at cliff.shaluta@wku.edu If you would like to schedule a tour of the University visit the Admissions Office website at http://www.wku.edu/Tour/visit.html
