WKU Accounting Alumnus Joins Alumni Board
WKU's Alumni Association has named nine new board members to its 32-member Board of Directors. New members who begin their term on July 15 are:
Drew Byers of Bowling Green, a 2002 graduate with a bachelor's degree in public relations. He is an account sales representative for Progressive Insurance. He is a member of the Warren County Chapter Planning Team Committee and Young Alumni Council. He is a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He and his wife, Jessica, have two daughters, Julia and Maggie.
Paul Calico of Cincinnati, Ohio, a 1976 graduate with a bachelor's degree in Administrative Service. He is Chief Circuit Mediator for the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth District. He is a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and served in Student Government Association at WKU. He and his wife, Ann, have two children, Austin and Molly.
Jade Gummer of Orlando, Fla., a 1998 graduate with a bachelor's degree in sociology and a 2006 master's degree in public administration. He is an attorney with the firm Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer. He is a former Hilltopper football player. He and his wife, Nina, have two sons, Jalen and Trenton.
Julie Hinson of Louisville, a 1990 graduate with a bachelor's degree in public relations and business administration. She is the President of Advanced Lifeline Services, Inc. She is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, the Clinical Education Complex Charter Committee and the College of Health and Human Services Board of Stakeholders. Her husband is Michael Hinson.
Dennis Reeves of Martinsville, Va., a 1967 graduate with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He is the President of J and J Aviation, Inc. He is a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, Alpha Phi Omega and served in Student Government Association at WKU. He and his wife, Shannon, have two children, Stephanie and Leslie.
Tricia Roca of Versailles, a 1975 graduate with a degree in secretarial administration. She is the executive assistant at Kentucky Employers Mutual. She is a member of the Central Kentucky Planning Team Committee and Kappa Delta Sorority. She has three children, Laura McKew, Robert Hanson and Sarah Jane Hanson.
Melinda Rue of Atlanta, Ga., a 1979 graduate with a degree in behavioral science. She is a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She and her husband, Jonathan, have four children, Elizabeth, Daniel, Jonathan Jr., and Julianne.
Kendra Stewart of Radcliff, a 1993 graduate with a bachelor's degree in English. She is the Public Relations Director for Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System. She is a member of the Heartland Chapter Planning Team Committee and served on the Black Student Alliance.
Michael Wang of Lexington, a 2002 graduate with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and chemistry. He is a realtor/property manager for RCP Realty. He is a member of the Central Kentucky Planning Team Committee, Alumni Center Fundraising Committee, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He and his wife, Shannon, have one son, Preston.
Alumni president named
Dale Augenstein of Hilton Head Island, S.C., was named president of the WKU Alumni Association for 2011-2012 by the group's board of directors in April. He succeeds Tonii Rizzo of Louisville. Kristen Miller of Louisville is the new president-elect.
About the alumni board: The WKU Alumni Association is comprised of 97,000 WKU alumni around the globe. The Alumni Association Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the direction of the WKU Alumni Association, developing a strategic plan to guide the Association, securing the resources necessary for supporting the programs and services of the Association, and supporting the overall mission of the Association and the University as a whole. Board members are appointed to the position based on demonstrated involvement, support and/or commitment to WKU.
