Dr. Ron Clark
Outstanding Accounting Alumnus
Dr. Ron Clark received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Western Kentucky University in 1965, a MBA degree from the University of Tennessee in 1978, and a Ph.D. from the University of Alabama in 1982. He has a distinguished career in academics with over twenty years of teaching experience at the University of Georgia and Auburn University.
Dr. Clark's areas of expertise include Accounting Information Systems, Auditing Internal Controls, and CPA Practice Development. He received National Honors on the CPA examination, holds five teaching awards recognizing his dedication to his students and to accounting education, and was selected as a Doctoral Consortium Fellow and awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award of the Georgia Society of CPAs.
Prior to entering academia, Dr. Clark practiced accounting for twelve years with Price Waterhouse, AMMCO, Inc. and NLT Computer Services. He has served on editorial/review boards of The Journal of Information Systems, Advances in Accounting Information Systems, Accounting Review, and the Journal of Accountancy. He has been published in numerous journals including Accounting Review, Management Accounting, CPA Journal, and Journal of Information Systems, just to name a few. Dr. Clark currently serves as Professor of Accountancy at Auburn University where he became a member of the faculty in 1995.
Outstanding Recent Alumna
Kristi graduated Summa Cum Laude from WKU in May 2002 with a 4.0. She received her MBA at the University of Kentucky in December 2003. Kristi passed the CPA exam on the first attempt in November 2003, achieving the highest scores in the state of Kentucky.
During the summer of 2003, Kristi completed an internship with Deloitte and began full-time after graduation from UK. Kristi began senioring jobs at Deloitte after just one year of employment. After three years with Deloitte, Kristi took a job with PBI Bank as the Assistant Controller. She now serves as the Controller for PBI Bank and is in charge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, managing payroll and accounting staff, general ledger, and SEC reporting.
Kristi is involved in service activities through her church, through the WKU Heartland Area Alumni Chapter in Elizabethtown, and heads activities for PBI's participation in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Kristi currently lives in Louisville with her husband of seven years and her two-year-old daughter, Kate.
