Recruitment
Since you are reading this website, you obviously know about the Gatton Academy; however, the Gatton Academy is an unknown to many students, parents, and educators throughout our Commonwealth. Although we will provide information to schools, sometimes the best resource is outside the school system. Recruitment for the Class of 2010 will take place throughout Fall 2007. Current high school sophomores can apply. We need your help in spreading the word.
Can You
- coordinate information and opportunities in your community?
- host get-togethers to talk to prospective applicants and their parents? Or provide contacts in communities who can?
- arrange speaking opportunities in communities throughout the state such as Rotary Club, Kiwanis, Optimists Club, Chambers of Commerce, etc.?
- connect us to local radio or television stations with interview possibilities?
- encourage a community newspaper or magazine to provide information or write a story about the Gatton Academy?
Wish List
The realization of the Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky brings myriad opportunities. Most obvious, of course, is the opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to be challenged in a unique college environment. The Gatton Academy may inspire business and industry to come to Kentucky as we provide a richer employee pool. But the Gatton Academy also provides an opportunity for giving. Since The Center for Gifted Studies will be housed in the Gatton Academy, even more opportunities are available. Read the wish list below. You may make a gift or you can put us in contact with someone, a business, or an organization who can contribute in one or more of these ways. You can make a real difference!
