Your Membership Matters!
Here's some helpful information about how
membership works at WKU Public Radio. To become a new or
renewing member, simply call (1-800-599-9598) or
join online
today. Thanks!
Most of the money needed to pay for the programs you enjoy on
WKU Public Radio comes directly from listeners—people like you
who care enough to get involved and become members. You're able to
enjoy public radio thanks to the generosity of many people over the
years. Now is your chance to join with them by becoming a new or
renewing member
today.
We do get support from
other sources: Western Kentucky University, for example, helps with
salaries and the building we occupy, but programming costs are
covered largely by the people who listen. Our members and
underwriters make the programs possible. There’s no safety net.
This is how public radio
works. Without public radio fundraising, there would be no public
radio! Thanks to membership support, we don’t have to air
commercials to pay for our programming.
Of
course our programming is much more than commercial-free. Being a public
radio station means that our mission is to provide a public service
that enhances the quality of life in the communities we serve.
WKU Public Radio brings you a greater range and depth of news,
cultural, and entertainment programming that you’ll find anywhere else
on the radio dial.
Becoming
a member is easy. The call is free, it only takes a couple of
minutes, and you can use a credit card if you like. Simply call
toll-free at
1-800-599-9598.
You can also join online at any time.
Your membership
really amounts to just pennies a day
over the course of a year. A basic pledge of $40 is less than 11
cents per day! A $75 pledge is just 20 cents per day! A $120
pledge is just $10 per month!
