Position
Description
Jue has
been a member of the Department of Library Public Services faculty since
2002. Chairs the Electronic Information Resources Committee for electronic
resources acquisition, management, and policy formulation. Managing
an extensive array of online databases, journals, and e-books; evaluation
and recommending emerging Internet resources; negotiation license arrangements
with vendors and consortiums; Reference assistance and collection development
responsibilities include Computer Science and Engineering.
• Chair of Electronic Resources Information Committee for electronic
resources acquisition, management, and policy formation
• Managing an extensive array of online databases, journals and
e-books
• Assistant on how to use database, conduct database searches
for faculty, staff and students
• Evaluate and recommend online resources, coordinate and organize
database trainings for library faculty and staff
• Negotiate license arrangements with publishers, vendors, and
consortiums
• Supervise and oversee the IT equipment purchasing and installation
in the library
• Offer general and specific (computer science) reference services
for faculty, staff and students
• Collection development for computer science and public health
(before the new health science librarian had been hired)
• Bibliographic instruction for computer science students
Research
Research
interests include using computer and information technology in the libraries,
digital libraries and archives. I am currently working on the Mammoth
Cave National Park Digitization Project. Main responsibilities include
database design and application development.
Award:
Junior Faculty Scholarship Award ($4000, Summer 2005) for research trip to Beijing, China.
