Position Description

Ms. Knight has been a member of the Department of Library Public Services faculty since 1995.

  • Handle reference requests and provide assistance, materials, advice, and research for WKU's distance education students
  • Collaboration with Glasgow Campus Librarian to assure campus quality service to extended campus students
  • Supervise two part-time employees and two students
  • Provide research instruction for all Extended Campus and English Department classes
  • Act as KYVL Reference contact (part of the Kentucky Virtual University) at WKU
  • Perform collection development for the subject English, Film Studies, and Women's Studies

Research

My library related areas of interest include teaching methodology for use in both public and academic libraries and the servicing a distance learning population.

Research interests include 19th Century British literature (especially Victorian poetry & Robert Browning), Medieval literature, Arthurian literature, and Elizabethan & Jacobean poetry and plays. I am especially interested in: the 19th Century British Literature (especially the works of Gerard Manley Hopkins, Oscar Wilde, Wordsworth, Keats, et al.); the works of Jane Austin; Renaissance Drama (especially William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe, and Thomas Kydd); Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac (1640); American Literature writers: Nathanal Hawthorne, T. S. Eliot, amongst others) and the Medieval Period and writers (Chaucer, Marie de France, Chrétien de Troyes, etc.).
