Abstract: While some university libraries provide no or limited
bibliographic access to their locally-produced theses and dissertations, Indiana
University Libraries at Bloomington has had good success with an evolving standard
of description and access. This session will cover a brief history of IU’s
theses/dissertation cataloging practices, recent enhancements to vendor-supplied
bibliographic records, and linking to digitized full text. The next steps to
deposit IU’s electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs) in IU ScholarWorks,
the Libraries’ digital repository, will also be presented.
