A Kind of Nobility: The Kentucky Orphan Brigade

Encampment of Orphan Brigade re-enactors will portray officers and enlisted men who served in the 2d, 3d, 4th, 5th, 6th and 9th Kentucky Infantry regiments during the Civil War. Although they suffered extreme hardships and tremendous loss of lives, the First Kentucky Brigade proved to be "the best brigade in the Confederate Army." Besides tents, open campfires, several static cannons, and a few picketed horses, re-enactments will include:
