Oakland High School
(1926)

In 1926, the county built a new Oakland School. The two-story structure had 5 classrooms, a library, principal's office, lunch room and a basement. Oakland's gymnasium, shown at the rear of the main structure, was built in 1927. By 1932-33, Oakland offered four years of high school work.

Oakland

Oakland's Christian Church (left) doubled as a schoolhouse for the local children. In 1925 the church sold the building to the county school board.
