and the Bowling Green Welfare Home provided relief to those in
need.

Home on Adams Street. The Bowling Green Welfare Home was organized
in the 1920s after three children died from exposure and malnutrition
in a tent on Woodford Street. Among other services, the Welfare
Home provided the needy with hot meals, medical care and clothing.
