Men unload crates of strawberries at the loading shed, Tenth and Adams streets, n.d. In 1910, 14,604 crates of strawberries, filling 39 railroad cars, were sent to markets in Louisville, Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton and Springfield. Each car carried 12,000 -14,000 pounds of ice to cool the produce.
