New York: a city searching for hope

On Friday, Sept. 14, 2001 Union Square was transformed. The square that once saw couples kissing and mothers playing with babies became the epicenter for mourners. They came to share the immense loss that rolled over the city along with the clouds of dust from the World Trade Center collapse.
