Barbara (Owen) Steinrock was born May 14, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. She obtained her B.A. from Western Kentucky University in 1964. She worked as an art instructor in the Jefferson County Schools in the mid-1960s. After residing in Louisville until 1966, Steinrock moved to Lexington, Kentucky to work as an interior decorator for Montgomery Ward from 1966-1969. She operated Steinrock Galleries in the late 1960s. Steinrock is currently employed as art director of WKYT-TV in Lexington.
