One Saturday
in April 1952, these four young men recorded
a song in Western Kentucky State College's Van Meter
Auditorium. They were (clockwise from top): Jimmy
Sacca,
Seymour Spiegelman, Don McGuire and Billy
Vaughn. The song
was "Trying," a composition of Vaughn's, and it would be the first
of many chart-toppers by one of the most popular groups of the 1950s.
Created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of that recording, this
web site remembers The Hilltoppers, their songs, their shows, and
their loyal fans.
