Health Building
Finished in 1931, the Health Building contained a 7,000-seat gymnasium, twelve classrooms, a clinic, several offices, and the school’s ROTC headquarters. Faced with Bowling Green limestone, the structure’s style is truly eclectic. Its greatest ornamental feature is the unusual terra cotta frieze encircling the building. When the building was converted into the university’s library in 1965, the portions of the frieze containing athletic figures were destroyed as they were removed.
Health Building

The 1931 Health Building was so large, it was reoriented on the master plan to fit the site.
