Finished
in 1931, the Health Building contained a 7,000-seat gymnasium, twelve
classrooms, a clinic, several offices, and the schools ROTC headquarters.
Faced with Bowling Green limestone, the structures style is truly
eclectic. Its greatest ornamental feature is the unusual terra cotta frieze
encircling the building. When the building was converted into the universitys
library in 1965, the portions of the frieze containing athletic figures
were destroyed as they were removed.
