Girls Inc.

A non-profit youth organization dedicated to inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold, Girls Incorporated provides vital educational programs to millions of American girls. Innovative programming prepares girls to lead successful, independent and fulfilling lives. Community Artist-in-Residence Delaire Rowe worked with Bowling Green girls in designing and executing the beautiful wall hanging pictured below.

	Girl Talk "We first started out just thinking of some ideas at the Kentucky Museum, how Kentucky is. We thought of the Derby, the tobacco, courtyards, people, yards, trees and fences and mountains and birds and stuff like that and clouds. We just put in a little of everything and we all did something like what we wanted."  "We made this beautiful luxurious picture with only crayons and paper and pencil and paint and cloth and glitter."
"I just want to say to everybody, I am glad I got to work with you all. I hope you all keep art in you all's life. Peace and love ya my sister."   "I really like Kentucky. My dad works in Kentucky. I live in Kentucky. Kentucky has wonderful plants and food and wonderful race tracks and everything we need, nice people and neat people. Bye."
Sponsored in part by a grant from the Kentucky Arts Council a state agency in the Education, Arts and Humanities Cabinet.	"I have had many good experiences in this canvas painting. We first drew on the canvas, then we painted on the canvas, then we outlined with black markers, then Delaire brought glitter and we outlined with all different kinds of beautiful glitter. I would like to thank all the people who did it with me. It has made a great experience. Love, peace and chicken grease."
