Members of the community were
invited to come and participate with the Capitol

Arts Center. All ages gathered with artist Delaire Rowe on several
Saturdays to plan and sketch, then paint and create a large mural.

Sponsored in part by a grant from the Kentucky Arts Council a state agency in the Education, Arts and Humanities Cabinet. |
Gennie: "Well I think it is neat to see how it has progressed from the sketches on the first day and when they all came together and how it looks now. It looks really great. What was your favorite part Granny?" Gloria: "Oh, I just like the whole thing myself - the ideas and I love those bright colors. I just think it's really interesting. It's been fun for me because it's got me interested doing art again. I just really enjoyed it." |
