Growing up in a family of graphic designers, newspapermen and typographers, Loomis used wood and metal type from her personal collection to stamp the 401 "k"s that appear on the surface of this textile. The subject is particularly appropriate given that she works as a human resources consultant. Loomis describes quiltmaking as "my art, my intellectual challenge, my therapy, my avocation, my fun."
