James Russell Meany (1889-1969)
J. R. Meany was born in Bennington, Vermont. After graduating from Union University,
Albany Law
School he practiced law in New York City. He began teaching law and accounting
at the BU about 1928.
During more than 30 years on the faculty, Meany joined the Kentucky Bar Association,
earned a
degree in accounting and a C. P. A. designation, and founded James R. Meany
and Associates, a public
accounting firm.
